Final Blog: Issues and Trends, EDUC 6162

Three consequences of learning about the international early childhood field:
1. I am more aware of issues that others face that live in other parts of the world.
2. I am even more appreciative for what I have.
3. Learning about the international field of early childhood made me reflect on my professional and personal life.

One goal for the field related to international awareness of issues and trends and the spirit of collegial relations:
1. To learn all you can about different issues, culture, from around the world and apply that information to your professional and personal life.
2. To be advocates for issues that you feel passionate about.

  1. Crystal I think it is important that we continue to learn all we can in the field of early childhood education and apply it in our daily lives and profession. Being able to communicate with folks on a international level was also a great experience and one I will not forget. I wish you much success a you continue in the field and working to obtain your degree at Walden.

  2. Crystal,

I like what you said about being passionate about what you are advocating for. I would be rather difficult to be an advocate to and not have the passion for what you are talking about. How would people know if you were driven if they could not hear the passion in your voice when you spoke. I too am more appreciative of what I have so many people around the world live in much less forturnate conditions then we do however it is normal for them to live like they do and it should not be.- Jolene Hernandez-Romero

  3. Crystal, I find myself envious of many of the conditions I found in my European counterpart situations such as the higher pay for early education teacher in Italy but it has also motivated me to move our own nation in that direction. At the same time I read the blogs that many of you, who have looked at countries with so many more early struggles and I too am grateful and appreciative of what I have. I have been motivated and encouraged to be an advocate as well. Good luck in you studies!

  5. Crystal,
I believe we are all passionate about these children or we would not be here :) I, too, have found a renewed passion to advocate as I have been taking these classes. Hopefully there will be enough voices to be heard!

  6. Great Post,

I am also more aware and knowledgeable about the issues and trends that others face around the world. I agree that we must be advocates about the issues we are passionate about. We have to speak up about the issues that will affect young children's lives. Thank you for your informative posts and I wish you the best in future courses!!!!
